rabbit, summer -

What are you doing for your holidays and are your rabbits coming with you? I have known customers buy our collapsable runs and top boxes for housing their bunnies at a UK holiday cottage before. It certainly saves worrying about them while you are away! Still more of us will have to leave them with a neighbour or friend and try to make the job as easy as possible for our helper. In warm weather the concerns are that shade will be required at all times, plus areas to freely move to when the sun changes position. Use shade wisely, check sun direction and pivot extra shade where needed...

Runaround is officially 14 years old this year which is 1 less than RAW week! In 2007 we started to think very hard about rabbits and this propelled us to the first RWAF conference in Bury. Seasonal? Maybe they are! Our rabbits spent a lot of time in winter in the top box and the clear dig but a change of weather and they are almost full time in the lookout box and the 8x4 elevated tray. It's great to see them choosing their areas to suit the temperature. Everything is...

When we made the first Runaround I was excited to watch the rabbits and see what suited them. I came from a view point of preferring all animals to be free ideally - living next to us in harmony - but of course the domesticated or even slightly tamed rabbits could never successfully join a warren and so the interest was to see how near to the natural state we could get by offering something similar. Presently we keep our rescues inside our system of top Boxes, runs and tunnels because we are in a garden  near a road. Previously...

Today is earth day - a day in which we reflect on how we are changing the planet with our activities. Green issues have never been so high and yet there is an irrepressible force for continuing to do the wrong thing because we have quickly adapted to living the way we do. Some of us might welcome a slow down, less planes, slower journeys, less technology but it is unlikely many of us will all want to go back in time as it could easily be viewed. Some developments may help to save the earth such as inventing ways to feed the human...
